A little about me!

A little about me!

Hey! I’m Emily from Sheffield! I have an amazing daughter and a very supportive partner that have supported me throughout my journey, even though there’s cardboard and bits of my work all over the house. Ross if you’re reading this, I will sort the cardboard boxes out in the kitchen later today 😅

I have always enjoyed being creative and I started creating some of my designs back in 2018. Due to a tough couple of years, and the pandemic, my love for creating designs took a back seat. Finally, in November 2021, I was able to put my all into creating Em’s Handiwork. I found myself spending all my free time working on my designs and I became stocked in my first Gift Shop, Annie Jude’s in Hillsborough, in May 2022, which is filled with the most gorgeous gifts.

I wanted to share my love for Sheffield within my work, so I brought out my first collection of ‘Sheffield Night Life’ glasses. These glasses included our much loved Leadmill, Corporation, Dempseys, Riverside and the gone but never forgotten Roxy & Republic. We all have that one place that is nostalgic! For me, it’s The Leadmill. Leadmill was my first ever night out, Monday nights were my favourite! Mainly because the drinks were cheap! But my love soon grew for The Leadmill due to it being the home of live music and the support it gave to upcoming bands and artists. It was, and still is, The Hub of Sheffield.

From there I became stocked in other gifts shops in Sheffield including Birds Yard, Rag n Bone, Polka Dott, & The Northern General Hospital to name a few. I expanded my range bringing out new designs and products, and showing my love for iconic artists from Sheffield, including Pulp & Arctic Monkeys and other celebrated places like, The Cathedral, Hendos & The Women of Steel Statue.

I have also recently collaborated with Sheffield F.C & Sheffield Eagles to create their very own range of glassware, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

So far this year I have been fortunate to take part in some amazing Festivals and Markets, and have become stocked in more shops around Sheffield. Throughout these markets I have met so many of my lovely customers and I would like to say a huge Thank you to everyone that has supported me! I have lots more lined up this year that I can’t wait to share with you!
